Best practices and strategies
The Guide “Best practices and business strategies to approach the markets of AFRICA,” has as its goal the establishment of guidelines for strengthening the economic links between the countries of the Portuguese speaking world, that is, of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries. It was developed in the Framework of the project “Internationalisation of the Portuguese”.
The development of this work, initially with focus directed to a logical increment of the internationalisation processes of Portuguese companies, it soon concluded that the added value of establishing relationships of reciprocity, recognising the need for change of paradigm. In other words, there was a change in motto based on the achievement of business “from...to”, to a logic of “in between”, due to the clear perception of the opportunities that this new perspective entails.

The market of the countries of the CPLP and of the “economic block” that these activities, by their size and characteristics, constitute a priority, and imported to explore. The proximity between the Portuguese-speaking countries at various levels is a key factor for the establishment of relations of synergies able to promote the trade relations and the conduct of business and raise them to a new level, given the potential that it presents.
This Guidance relates to the need of deepening of economic relations, giving an account of the genesis and development of the CPLP, as well as the emergence of the Confederation of Enterprise (CE-CPLP), while entity-specific and oriented to the economic development, the cooperation of the business environment and investment promotion in the space of new countries.
For the identification of best practices and business strategies to approach the markets of AFRICA, proceeded to the presentation of the various existing arrangements with regard to the entry modes in markets of which the companies have, being that the existing options have varying degrees of requirements and complexity of different as well as distinct advantages and disadvantages.
