On May 16, the Nonagon Association promoted the first edition of the “Angels Go-On” initiative, at the São Miguel Science and Technology Park.

Through “Angels Go-On”, around 10 Azorean start-ups had the opportunity to pitch to a group of Business Angels who, in addition to assessing the possibility of investment, promptly left their advice to each of the projects presented.

The Business Angels invited to this first edition were Tim Vieira, Ricardo Luz and Basílio Simões.

The so-called “Smart Money”, which is characterized by an entry into the capital of a start-up in exchange for mentoring and networking (Business Angels and Venture Capital), enhances the leverage of any entrepreneurial project. For technology-based entrepreneurship based on the assumption of scale gain, smart money is indispensable, a fact that can be seen in technological scale-ups.
