Proptech Challenge, a European competition from CBRE that seeks projects that can shape the future of the real estate sector, has driven talents from all over the world to submit their applications. With digital transformation increasingly assuming a prominent role in the real estate sector, CBRE is investing in the search for unique solutions that can bring added value to the market.
So far, the projects submitted for both the Disruptive Idea Award and the Startup Award have presented technological advances in the areas of artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality and the Internet of Things, among others. The projects will be evaluated by an international panel of juries, including four Portuguese, and will allow the winning candidates to develop their ideas together with CBRE, counting on the know-how and guidance of the team.
Pedro Rocha Vieira, CEO of Beta-i and international jury of the Proptech Challenge, believes that “initiatives such as the Proptech Challenge are increasingly relevant, at a time when the traditional economy is under pressure to find new business models, and to integrate emerging technologies , which are more and more mature. Sectors such as real estate can take great advantage of these advances, but for that it is necessary that the incumbent companies that dominate the current market, decide to invest in this new paradigm, and in their own future, so as not to be surprised by it. It is good to see that CBRE is also active in this field, which is why it is with great pleasure that Beta-i joins this initiative ”.
For
Ricardo Luz, Partner of Gestluz Consultores and international jury of the Proptech Challenge, “The technological innovation that has been causing significant changes, if not even disruptions, in business models and companies in all sectors of activity, is now a reality also in the real estate sector. The Proptech Challenge, CBRE's European competition, is one of the most important vehicles for promoting talented people and innovative companies with ideas and projects that aim to transform the real estate sector, improving its competitiveness and sustainability, and in the end, contributing to the improvement of territories and the lives of the people who inhabit, visit and work in them. ”
It is recalled that this is the second year that CBRE promotes the Proptech Challenge, having decided to extend the competition to Portugal, the United Kingdom and Germany. During the first edition held only in Spain, the competition received more than 80 innovation projects, 220 participants and one guaranteed a total of € 25,000 in monetary prizes.
Applications remain open until October 31. All information is available on the contest
website.
